In February, Torborg Chetkovich, partner at Capman Infra and Hanna Raftell, CEO at Fimento discussed the future of financing at the annual conference, Framtidsarenan.

They reflected on the challenges and opportunities, which have arisen from the rapid changes that the world has faced during the past year. They also addressed questions such as: what will the future of environmental, social and corporate governance, and financial development look like? Beyond this, they gave listeners excellent advice on the keys to unlocking financing success in the future.

The Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Sweden are lucky to have both these prominent Hong Kong related businesswomen on the board. If you didn’t get a chance to listen, Torborg and Hanna can now share their biggest take away from the discussion.

Which keys can be used to move successfully into the future of financing?

Hanna Raftell: The keys to successfully move into the future of financing include creativity, technology and an open mind-set. Although these might sound like the perfect ingredients for the next financial crisis, I truly believe that we will shift towards a disintermediary financial system. A system in which, not only one trusted partner or middleman will hold the keys but rather a system consisting of various participants sharing the task of ensuring detection of fraudulent behaviour, money laundering and correct pricing of moving money through the system without unnecessary fees.

Torborg Chetkovich: Having sustainability as an integrated part of all our activities, including financing, is key for long term success for us in developing companies to deliver great values for all our stakeholders. The time to act and to increase the speed in needed changes is for sure here now so let’s embrace the new solutions and ambitions and join forces to support a sustainable value creation.
